There are certain circumstances when a tooth cannot be saved and must be removed.
Teeth are most commonly extracted due to breakage or decay. A few additional reasons a tooth may be extracted include the presence of extra teeth that are blocking others from coming in, advanced gum disease, or as part of preparation for orthodontic treatment.
Wisdom-tooth extraction is recommended when there is insufficient space for them in the mouth.
