I’ve been using white strips and whitening toothpaste, but neither of them, even used together, having gotten my teeth very white and I’ve been doing them for what seems like ages. Is there some secret trick I’m missing? I could save up for Zoom Whitneing.
Deidre
Dear Deidre,
Part of the problem are the treatments you are using. While Crest Whitestrips will whiten teeth, albeit slowly, the whitening toothpaste you are using is probably nullifying the positive effect the whitening strips have. This is because the over-the-counter whitening toothpastes contain abrasives. They use these to scrub the stains off your teeth. Unfortunately, that also leaves microscratches on your tooth enamel. This causes them to stain more rapidly.
The whitestrips are weaker than any type of teeth whitening you will get with a dentist. This is for safety reasons. over-the-counter products will never be as strong. The two of these issues combined are probably why you are not seeing the results you were hoping for.
How to Get Super White Teeth
While Zoom Whitening will do an amazing job at getting your teeth incredibly white in just one appointment, even it will not give you the end result you can get with sheer determination and custom made bleaching trays from your dentist.
You simply wear the trays your dentist provides you with along with the gel for as long as you can each day. In just a few weeks you will see a big difference. If you want it whiter, then you just continue wearing them until you are satisfied.
